As this year Public Library Day i.e 22^nd May falls on Sunday, Mizoram State Library celebrated the occasion on 23^rd May, 2022 by conducting various activities such as free membership registration, handing out of Public Library Day Giveaway such as Pen and customized Button batch (printed with quotes about library, reading, books) to all the library visitors with free drinks. Since this year marked the 250^th Birth Anniversary of Raja Rammohun Roy, also coinciding with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (75^th year of Indian Independence), inorder to commemorate these special occasions, Book Display Corner for the period 22^nd May, 2022-22^nd May, 2023 was also created in the library with a banner displaying “@250^th birth anniversary of Raja Rammohun Roy” and “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. Books on freedom struggle, Raja Rammohun Roy and India Renaissance, women empowerment, social reform movement, library movement, and library history are displayed in the corner. We have 25 new adult members, 12 new children members and a total of 81 library visitors.
